My name is Aliana and I am 12 years old. I will be holding my third fundraiser for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Every year I choose a different department to donate to. This year, I have chosen CCMC School. I am taking donations online and at my event on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 and hope to meet my goal of $5,000. My friends and family chalk the entire concrete entryway, “the pad”, in front of the hospital so when kids look out their windows it will make them smile.
I, too, am a patient at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. I have CVID. My body doesn’t produce antibodies normally, so I need monthly infusions of healthy human plasma called IVIG. When I would look out my hospital window and saw the blank concrete pad below it made me sad. I decided that I wanted to spread cheer and joy.
So every year, for the last 3 years, instead of birthday gifts, I ask for donations for the hospital. This year we are also painting special rocks which will be placed as art in the garden near the Emergency Department entrance so some of what we create stays all year long. Please join me at my event on August 16 and if you can, please consider making a donation using the form below to help me meet my goal.
