Connecticut Children’s is proud to be a beneficiary of fundraising activities managed by the Avon Chapter of UNICO, having contributed nearly $80,000 since 2013 in support of world-class care for children in our region. Avon UNICO is part of a national non-profit, the largest Italian American service organization in the country. In Italian, the word unico means “unique” or “one of a kind” and has become an acronym standing for Unity, Neighborliness, Integrity, Charity, and Opportunity (UNICO) and represents the character and purpose of the organization.
