Arthur Murray’s Dance-a-Thon @ Arthur Murray Dance Centers (2 locations below)

Dance, Dance, Dance

Join the Arthur Murray Dance Centers of Westfarms and Bloomfield for a dance-a-thon Friday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 12. This event will be filled with nonstop dancing, group classes and a crazy fun atmosphere where you can let loose and dance the day and night away! All are welcome to participate, so grab your spouse or a friend or two and reserve your spot today. Hours vary by location, please see below for details and contact information.

Dance lessons are $85, and $30 from each paid registration will benefit Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Arthur Murray Dance Center is dedicated to teaching a healthy, active lifestyle to young people.

Cycle Out Cancer @ CycleBar - The Shoppes at Farmington Valley

Who are you cycling for?


Beat back winter and head over to CycleBar at The Shoppes at Farmington Valley to “Cycle Out Cancer” for an epic, one-of-a-kind spinning event on January 11, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Register for a one-hour class or for multiple hours by clicking on the “tickets” button on the eventbrite registration website. There will be t-shirts, food, awards and prizes.

You and your friends can beat the January chill, spinning indoors at your own pace. Burn up and down the virtual hills or cruise the open road. Either way, you will be “Cycling Out Cancer” for kids in our region receiving treatment at Connecticut Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

CYCLEBAR of Canton is a premium indoor cycling facility opened by Kevin and Liz Anderson in September 2018. Kevin is a retired colonel with the United States Marine Corps and retired Connecticut State Trooper. They are excited to bring a new cycling experience to the Farmington Valley and look forward to giving back to the community.

Let Zumba Fitness be Your Stress Reliever


ZumbaTHON is the best way to get prepared for HuskyTHON’s 18-hour dance marathon! It’s a 3-hour Zumba Fitness dance party, and all for a great cause! On February 8th, from 1 pm to 4 pm, your favorite UConn Bodywise instructors will be rockin’ the UConn Field House with your favorite dance styles: Salsa, Merengue, Samba, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Hip-hop, Pop, Bollywood, and more!

ZumbaTHON is open to anyone — not just UConn students!

Bring your friends, family, colleagues, classmates, teammates, coworkers… whomever! Stay as long as you’d like — every instructor will be teaching during every hour, so if you have a favorite (or several favorites, as the case may be), you can’t miss them. Instructors TBD.

HuskyTHON is an annual fund-raising effort coordinated by the students at the University of Connecticut. Last year alone, HuskyTHON raised more than $1.3 million and since 2000 they have raised nearly $6 million. For more information about HuskyTHON, please visit www.huskython.org

Superhero Virtual Challenge @ Anywhere you choose
May 1 – May 31 all-day

Through generous donations and participation, 112 superheroes raised $25,330 to support the COVID-19 Emergency Fund at Connecticut Children’s. Your contributions support our commitment to deliver family-centered care, while we keep our patients and families safe, and continue to provide the critical services needed during the COVID-19 crisis. We are so grateful.

Real Support for Real Heroes

Run your own race—participate at your own pace—all while generating support for Connecticut Children’s healthcare heroes.

The first $10,000 in donations will be matched by our generous sponsor Capital City Education Alliance.Registration begins May 1st


Whether you choose to run or walk outside, complete your own race on a treadmill, participate in an online fitness class, practice yoga or go for a long bike ride—the way you choose to participate in the Superhero Virtual Challenge is completely up to you!
