Stellar Night, Record-Breaking Impact: A Star-Studded Gala Triumph!

On Saturday, November 11, 2023 the Connecticut Convention Center transformed into a magical casita for our enchanting Encanto-themed Gala.

The star-studded event was nothing short of spectacular, featuring appearances by Jessica Darrow and Diane Guerrero, two luminaries from the enchanting Encanto cast. The audience of nearly 1,000 guests were treated to an array of captivating performances, including mind-bending illusions by magician Arthur Trace, the rhythmic beats of SonMilanes, a dynamic 5-piece Latin band, the mesmerizing moves of Tumbago, a Colombian Dance Company from New York, and the soulful tunes of Avenue Groove, an R&B/funk band.

As the evening unfolded, guests immersed themselves in the enchanting atmosphere, participating in a Wishing Well jewelry drawing sponsored by Michaels Jewelers, Tarot Card Reading Tents and more! The formal program commenced with warm welcome remarks from Jim Shmerling and Corporate Board Chairman David Roth and Bob Duncan. The air buzzed with excitement during the silent and live auctions, where attendees eagerly bid on fabulous packages, adding an extra layer of thrill to the night.

However, the true highlight of the evening was the unprecedented success of the Bid for Kids live appeal. The funds raised in support of Connecticut Children's Fetal Care Center shattered previous records. Dr. Timothy M. Crombleholme, the Director of Connecticut Children’s Fetal Care Center, took the stage to shed light on the significance of this specialty. The emotional resonance deepened as a video was shared, detailing the heartfelt care story of the Sargent family, underscoring the profound impact of the night's contributions on real lives.
