Come get lost in Lyman Orchard’s sunflower maze! While wandering you can learn more about the history of Big Bird, Elmo, Ernie & Bert, Oscar the Grouch, and more. The words to the Sesame Street opening jingle apply to the Sunflower Maze. Sunny Day. Sweepin’ the clouds away. On my way to where the air is sweet. And with more than 350,000 red and yellow sunflowers immersing our guests in a 360-degree environment, it’s a wonderful experience for children and adults alike.
$1 of each admission is donated to in support of pediatric cancer patients at Connecticut Children’s. Over the past 12 years, $107,092 has been donated to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.Learn More

Locals, visitors and guests alike are invited to partake in the Root Beer Float Day fundraising activities with the proceeds going directly to Connecticut Children’s, your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Floats will be available for a suggested donation of $5. Root Beer Float Day is a nod to Marriott’s beginnings when company founder, Bill Marriott, Sr., and his wife Alice opened two root beer stands in Washington, D.C., in the 1920s.Learn More
AFLAC Childhood Cancer Campaign
The community is invited to participate in AFLAC’s Childhood Cancer Campaign to make a difference in the lives of these young patients and the estimated 15,800 US children newly diagnosed with cancer each year. Proceeds from that sale of limited-edition products and online donations will benefit Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.Learn More

In January 2018, Connecticut’s Department of Motor Vehicles officially announced the availability of a new Hartford Whalers commemorative license plate to benefit the Infusion & Dialysis Centers at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Kohl’s supports Connecticut Children’s Injury Prevention Center programs through sales of their Kohl’s Cares® merchandise. 100% of the net profit from the sale of Kohl’s Cares items sold in Connecticut (in-stores and online) will fund the Kohl’s TweenSafe Program at Connecticut Children’s.Learn More
