Connecticut Children’s is the only health system in Connecticut dedicated exclusively to the care of children and ranked one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and a Magnet® designated hospital. Connecticut Children’s provides more than 30 pediatric specialties along with community-based programs to uniquely care for the physical, social, and emotional needs of children.
From the tiniest babies treated in our Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) to children and young adults undergoing cancer treatment in our Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, every patient who comes through our doors receives the specialized care they need and deserve.
That’s why the Greatest Need Children’s Fund is so important.
The Greatest Need Children’s Fund allows Connecticut Children’s to treat the routine injuries and illnesses of childhood and keeps us nimble and responsive, so we can address extraordinary needs during uncertain times. For example, during the COVID-19 crisis, the Greatest Need Children’s Fund provides support for the purchase of critical personal protection equipment (PPE), the hardware and technology necessary to increase our telemedicine capabilities and additional common items like hand sanitizer and tympanic thermometers for testing and temperature screening.
Last year, more than 114,000 patients from across the region and around the world came to Connecticut Children’s for world-class care. More than 2,000 are premature or high-risk newborns cared for in our Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Hartford.
